This wall shows the darker side of the stone. Wide black zones and irregular white bands are arranged over several large panels into a layered, almost landscape-like composition, with no repeating motif.
It is a good example of vein matching, which is not the same as bookmatching. True bookmatching mirrors two neighboring slab faces; vein matching arranges available slabs so the bands flow from panel to panel.
For a wall like this, the useful things to approve are the exact slab selection, the usable sizes, the vein layout and the panel numbers. A dry-lay photo from the factory confirms how the bands continue across the joints before shipment.
